Transfer news: Chelsea tell Real Madrid what it would cost to replace Ronaldo with Hazard

[ad_1]

Chelsea have told Real Madrid to cough up to £200 million or forget about signing Eden Hazard this summer.

The Blues believe they are in a strong position over the transfer, despite Hazard hinting at ending his time at the Premier League club.

Standard Sport reports that Chelsea want to get as much as they can for the Belgian star.

If Real pay the £200m demanded, it would shatter the world record, currently held by Paris Saint-Germain’s Neymar. But the Spanish giants are of the view that half of that amount would be reasonable.

The LaLiga side are willing to make a £112 million opening offer for the player, that could of course rise as it looks like the transfer window is coming to an end.

However, if Hazard refuses to sign a new contract at Stamford Bridge, he and Real will be able to force Chelsea’s hand.

Real Madrid are so confident of landing Hazard from Chelsea this summer, that they have reserved Cristiano Ronaldo’s squad number for him.
