Transfer: French player finally leaves Chelsea for Everton

Chelsea’s France defender, Kurt Zouma, will leave Stamford Bridge on loan for Everton.

Last season, Zouma was on loan to Stoke City, and impressed during his stint with the Potters despite the club’s relegation from the Premier League.

Zouma was left out of Chelsea’s pre-season trip to Australia due to injury and has not made an appearance in any of the pre-season fixtures under new manager, Maurizio Sarri.

The Chelsea-Italian manager has a wealth of options in central defence and has allowed the Frenchman to leave the club on loan.

The Times reports that Everton are now on the brink of completing a deal for the French defender.

Everton are keen on signing a new central defender before Thursday’s transfer deadline.

The club have now opted for Zouma after their deal to sign Yerry Mina from Barcelona failed.
