Transfer: Didier Deschamps confirms Mendy’s move to Real Madrid

France coach, Didier Deschamps, has confirmed that Lyon left-back, Ferland Mendy, is set to join Real Madrid in this summer’s transfer window.

DAILY POST had reported that Mendy was among the six players Real Madrid manager, Zinedine Zidane and the club’s president, Florentino Perez, wants to sign this summer.

Mendy has been heavily linked with a move to the La Liga giants this summer.

“Two years ago he [Mendy] was playing in the second division, now he is on the verge of joining Real Madrid,” Deschamps was quoted by Mirror UK as saying.

“He has come on leaps and bounds, and he can play on both sides.”
