Transfer: Chelsea star, Aina signs new contract, leaves club

Super Eagles versatile defender, Ola Aina has signed new contract with Chelsea as he departs to Italy on a season long loan.

Aina’s new contract will keep him at Stamford Bridge till 2021.

He will spend this season with the Maroons, according to Chelsea’s official website.

Last season, he played a key-part for Hull City in the English Championship but has long been touted to continue his development elsewhere since the arrival of Maurizio Sarri at
the club.

Aina first made his senior team bow for Chelsea in a League Cup win over Bristol Rovers in 2016, having progressed through the club’s Cobham Academy.

The 21-year-old thus becomes the 30th Chelsea player to depart the club on a short term during the transfer window.
