Transfer: Atletico Madrid meet Chelsea over deal for Olivier Giroud

[ad_1]

Spanish giants, Atletico Madrid are interested in signing Chelsea striker, Olivier Giroud.

Atletico were almost signing Nikola Kalinic from AC Milan, but the Italian club wasted time, forcing the La Liga side to look elsewhere.

Giroud joined Chelsea from Arsenal in January as an another option to Alvaro Morata but the Blues are said to be ready to let him depart the club.

Sky Sports Italia reports that both Chelsea and Atletico Madrid’s representatives have met in London to discuss a potential deal, with the La Liga side opting for a loan move.

However, Chelsea would prefer to sell Giroud, who just helped France to win their second World Cup in history.

Giroud scored five goals in 18 appearances for Chelsea last season.
