A crack team of Policemen from Isiokolo Police Divisional Headquarters in collaboration with Local Vigilante have gunned down four suspected armed robbers while others escaped in Kokori community, Ethiope-East Local Government Area of Delta State.
The Police also recovered two locally made guns and ten cartridges from the suspects, DAILY POST can report.
It was learnt that three members of the vigilante sustained serious injuries as the suspects engaged the Police in a shootout.
The suspects who have been terrorizing Isiokolo community were tracked at about 1:20 hours after they (suspects) returned from a major operation.
The deceased suspects have been buried at the cemetery in Isiokolo on the directive of the Ethiope-East Council Chairman, Hon.(Mrs.) Faith Majemite.
Contacted, the Delta State Acting Police Public Relations Officer, ASP, confirmed the report, saying the Police has intensified efforts to track down the fleeing suspects.
