Police gives updates on Boko Haram attack on Yobe girls’ school

The Police in Yobe state on Tuesday disclosed that no life was lost in yesterday’s attack on Government Girls Secondary School, GGSS Dapchi, in Bursari LGA of Yobe state, by suspected members of the Boko Haram sect.

The insurgents had attacked the town on Monday and carted away foodstuff at the Government Girls College, while firing sporadically, forcing staff and students to flee into surrounding for safety.

Speaking to newsmen, the Yobe state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Abdulmaliki Sumonu revealed that there has so far not being any report of abduction of any of the girls in the school.

“We are still collecting the details on the attack, census of the girls and the general public,” he said.

Sumonu told newsmen in Yobe that three males were later abducted by the insurgents in a remote community in Geidam Local Government Area after the attack on Dapchi.
