1. The Nigeria Football Federation, NFF has debunked the claim by the Sports Minister, Solomon Dalung’s that he knew nothing about the national U-23 team’s trip to Atlanta, USA, ahead of the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It has consequently made a copy of the letter it sent to the Minister where he was intimated about the trip available to the press.

2. Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has said he is in support of the calls for the restructuring of the country, saying it was strange that the All Progressives Congress (APC), which was the advocate of true federalism was now against restructuring as the ruling party.This was through a statement by his Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka.

3. Ovarian cancer patient, Ahmed Mayowa, has been reported dead. Mayowa died on Sunday at an undisclosed hospital in South Africa where she was receiving treatment.
A family member, Asiwaju Foye, broke the news on twitter.

4. The Parish Priest of St. Brendan’s Catholic Church, Okwu, Ikeduru Local Government Area of Imo state, Rev. Fr. Cammy Mario Egeole, has pleaded in a prophetic message he called “Governor Rochas Okorocha, how come you forgot so soon?” to stop further demolition of houses and stores in state as he was aggarvating the pais of those who voted for him.

5. The Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, has said that the Nigerian Air Force has no intelligence at the moment on whether the Chibok girls are currently been kept in the Sambisa Forest or somewhere else. Abubakar was speaking during an interactive session with journalists in Abuja on Saturday. He said efforts were on to rescue the girls and others abducted by the insurgents.

6. The Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta, on Sunday, said the Ijaw National leader, Chief Edwin Clark, does not have the moral standing to lead a peace talk between the Federal Government and militants from the region, alleging that Clark and the other leaders of the region kept quiet during the six-year administration of former President, Goodluck Jonathan and should not be relied on regarding any discussion on the restructuring of the country.

7. Police in Enugu State have arrested members of a syndicate, which specialised in confirming fake prophecies for pastors. Report says the group also faked healings for some men of God, who paid them for their services. The suspects were identified as Obi Ejike from Ubaho Okija in Anambra State; Mary Kuku from Ijebu Ode, Ogun State; Joy Oluwakemi from Ojo, Lagos State; Nwosu Chizoba from Umunze, Anambra State; and Peter Uchechi from Ebonyi State.

8. A mother of three and a business woman, Olubunmi Uko, has been declared missing after she reportedly walked out of her Fola Agoro home in Somolu area of the state with one of her sons, leaving a suicide note behind. She had complained that her business had gone bad due to the exchange rate and that her debts had rise unimaginably.

9. The Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu, yesterday, said the value of the naira against other major currencies will continue to fall if the country continues the importation of petroleum product into the country, adding that the failure of the nation’s refineries to work optimally has led to shortfall in the availability of FOREX in the open market.

10. The umbrella body of Ijaw youths, the Ijaw Youth Council Worldwide, has condemned some politicians who are desperately trying to rope former President Goodluck Jonathan into the formation of the Niger Delta Avengers. The group, in a statement by its spokesman, Mr. Eric Omare, said the genesis of the accusations against Jonathan started after he visited President Buhari few weeks ago.
