Nigeria vs South Africa: Rohr advised on best Super Eagles’ starting XI against Bafana Bafana

A former Nigeria international, Benedict Akwuegbu has handed Super Eagles head coach, Gernot Rohr, a list of best starting XI he should play in Nigeria’s 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) match against South Africa on Wednesday night.

Nigeria will tackle the Bafana Bafana at the Cairo International Stadium from 8pm tonight, and Akwuegbu has advised Rohr on the starting eleven he feels can get the job done.

According to Akwuegbu, Rohr should use the same players that started against Cameroon last weekend in Nigeria’s 3-2 win over the Indomitable Lions in the round of 16 encounter.

“It was trial and error against Burundi and Guinea and it was too bad against Madagascar,” Akwuegbu told Completesports.

“But against Cameroon, the chemistry stuck and we saw the result as well as good performance.

“The boys seemed to understand themselves and we expect them to get even better by playing together again.

“Altering that lineup may not augur well for the Team. He (Rohr) should maintain the same squad when facing South Africa,” Akwuegbu warned.

“It is not over until it is really over. No team is cheap these days, and of course, you don’t think you will ride others just because you have dethroned the reigning Champions (Cameroon),” he added.
