Lai Mohammed reveals why FG hasn’t been responding to criticisms from PDP

The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, has dismissed statements from the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, criticizing the President Muhammadu Buhari-led government as “amateurish and jejune”.

He added that the federal government has precisely refused to respond to the PDP because the main opposition party has failed to learn the ropes of being an opposition party, “even when we have advised them to take a crash course on the role of the opposition in a democracy.”

Mohammed, however, stated that the Buhari government broke its own rules regarding PDP, “because the PDP over-reached itself and scored an own goal at a time it could simply have congratulated the government and people of Nigeria on the release of the girls or just keep quiet”.

The minister spoke against the backdrop of PDP’s description of the recent abduction and release of Dapchi girls by Boko Haram insurgents as,”a scam of no equal dimensions the world over. @OfficialPDPNig had repeatedly warned about conspiratorial plots advanced by @APCNigeria interests to gain heroic attainments”.
