The Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, has said he has no preferred candidates in the ongoing State APC Local Government election primaries.

Addressing party supporters in Kaduna, the governor urged the APC delegates to be law abiding, saying that no candidate should be imposed on the people by government officials.

“The primary elections today is preparatory to the forthcoming local government elections in Kaduna.”

“I have no preferred candidate, and I warn all government officials not to force any candidate on the delegates. Let them choose and vote whoever they want.”

He said that the APC in Kaduna would make the local government primaries an example to others: “these primaries will be an exemplary exercise in internal democracy.”

The governor called on delegates to vote women and people with disabilities as a way of incorporating all into governance.
