The Senator representing Kaduna Central in the National Assembly, Shehu Sani on Monday pointed out why Northern Nigeria is in \u201cextreme poverty\u201d.<\/p>\n

Sani said the region was ravaging in poverty due to its neglect of agriculture and over-dependence on oil.<\/p>\n

In a post on his Facebook page, he also stated that abandoning the moral and ethical standards and economic vision and legacies of Ahmadu Bello were part of many other reasons the region was poor.<\/p>\n

The post he titled: \u201cNine reasons for extreme Poverty in Northern Nigeria\u201d reads: \u201cNeglect of Agriculture & dependence on oil revenues.<\/p>\n

\u201cDecadence & collapse of public education;Fatalism;Septic extremism and toxic inter ethnic violence;<\/p>\n

\u201cAbandoning the moral and ethical standards and economic vision and legacies of Ahmadu Bello; Culpability of successive Northern leaders in power;entrenched Handouts culture;<\/p>\n

\u201cPliant attitudinal incumbrance of refusing to challenge leaders and hold them to account or the Slavery of loyalty or inimical subservience;<\/p>\n
