Professor Ben Ayade, the Governor of Cross River State has called on Christians in the state to imbibe the virtues of Jesus Christ whose birth, he said, brought a refreshing dawn to mankind.<\/p>\n

Describing Christ as a symbol of humility and selflessness, the Governor, in a Christmas message to Christians, said the season comes with lessons.<\/p>\n

In a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Christian Ita, Ayade said Christ\u2019s humility and selflessness should be imbibed by Nigerians, especially, political leaders.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe was born in a manger, a place no one would choose to be born, yet He is God and Saviour. Christmas reminds us that humility and selflessness are the hallmarks of leadership, as exhibited by Christ Himself\u201d, the statement quoted Governor Ayade as saying.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis season readily reminds us of our duties; as political leaders and leaders in all strata of human endeavours to show salutary examples in all we do.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Cross River state Governor wished Christians peace and joy as they celebrate the birth of Jesus and charged them to remain committed to the lessons of Christmas.<\/p>\n
