The police on Monday arraigned a woman, Kehinde Ajimosu, before an Apapa Chief Magistrates\u2019 Court, for allegedly stabbing her boyfriend with a knife on the stomach, hand and buttocks.<\/p>\n

Ajimosu, 24, a resident of Akindele Street, Olodi-Apapa, Lagos, is facing a two-count charge of assault and breach of peace, to which she pleaded not guilty.<\/p>\n

The Prosecutor, Insp Ferdinand Asu, told the court that the accused committed the offences on Nov. 4 at her residence.<\/p>\n

Asu alleged that the accused assaulted the complainant, Aare Aminu, by stabbing him with a knife on the stomach, hand and buttocks.<\/p>\n

He said that Ajimosu also conducted herself in a manner likely to cause breach of peace by running on the street with a knife in her hand.<\/p>\n

The prosecutor said that Ajimosu thought the complainant was cheating on her and so, stabbed him with the knife.<\/p>\n

He said that efforts made by witnesses to stop her from stabbing her boyfriend proved abortive.<\/p>\n

The offences contravened Sections 168 and 173 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.<\/p>\n

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Section 173 prescribes a three-year jail term for an offender found guilty.<\/p>\n

The Chief Magistrate, Mr Michael Olubi, granted the accused bail in the sum of N100, 000, with two sureties in like sum.<\/p>\n
