Liverpool winger, Mohamed Salah, has capped an impressive 2018 for club and country, by winning the prestigious BBC African Footballer of the Year Award for the second time in a row.<\/p>\n

The Egyptian beat off competition from club team-mate Sadio Mane, Thomas Partey, Kalidou Koulibaly and Medhi Benatia, to the prize.<\/p>\n

Salah also becomes the second player after Austin \u2018Jay Jay\u2019 Okocha to win it for two consecutive years.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a great feeling to win again. I\u2019m happy and I would like to win it also next year!<\/p>\n

\u201cThere have been many good moments in 2018.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m scoring goals and helping the team to get the points to be top of the league. That\u2019s always a great feeling,\u201d Salah said.<\/p>\n

Salah scored 44 goals in 52 games for Liverpool last season and helped them to reach the Champions League final.<\/p>\n

The 26-year-old also scored twice for Egypt at the World Cup in Russia.<\/p>\n

Earlier in 2018, Salah won the English double \u2014 the Players\u2019 Player of the Year and the Football Writers\u2019 Player of the Year.\n<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
