{"id":69364,"date":"2018-12-13T07:27:04","date_gmt":"2018-12-13T06:27:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=69364"},"modified":"2018-12-13T07:27:28","modified_gmt":"2018-12-13T06:27:28","slug":"13-year-old-boy-drowns-in-kano","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=69364","title":{"rendered":"13-year-old boy drowns in Kano"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/arewa.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/1523437144_drowns.jpg\"><\/p>\n<div id=\"mvp-content-main\">A 13-year-old boy, Dayyabu Salisu, has drowned while bathing in a pond at Mariri Yankatsari village in Dawakin Kudu Local Government Area of Kano State.<\/p>\n<p>The spokesman of the Kano State Fire Service, Mr Saidu Mohammed, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that the incident happened on Wednesday morning when the deceased went to take his bath.<\/p>\n<p>Mohammed said, \u201cWe received a distress call from one Malam Saminu Sani at about 10:43 a.m. that Salisu\u2019s body was found floating in a pond.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOn receiving the information, we quickly sent our rescue team to the scene at about 10:55 a.m.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSalisu was found dead and his corpse was later handed over to his father, Malam Salisu Abdullahi,\u2019\u2019 he said.<\/p>\n<p>The spokesman advised parents to prevail on their children and wards to stay away from water bodies to prevent harm from coming to them.\n<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A 13-year-old boy, Dayyabu Salisu, has drowned while bathing in a pond at Mariri Yankatsari village in Dawakin Kudu Local Government Area of Kano State.
