{"id":69118,"date":"2018-12-12T16:37:06","date_gmt":"2018-12-12T15:37:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=69118"},"modified":"2018-12-12T16:37:27","modified_gmt":"2018-12-12T15:37:27","slug":"suspected-kidnappers-arrested-in-niger","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=69118","title":{"rendered":"Suspected kidnappers arrested in Niger"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/arewa.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/Mike-Adenuga-Impostor-600x300.jpg\"><\/p>\n<div id=\"mvp-content-main\">The Niger State Police Command has arrested one suspect for alleged kidnapping a man in Kontagora area of the State.<\/p>\n<p>The command\u2019s Public Relations Officer, Mr Mohammadu Abubakar, in a statement on Tuesday in Minna, alleged that the suspect and nine others kidnapped one Alhaji Abubakar Umaru of Magama Local Government Area on Nov. 15, 2018 and demanded N150 million ransom.<\/p>\n<p>Abubakar said that after intensive negotiations with the suspects, they collected N13.5 million before releasing the victim on Nov. 28.<\/p>\n<p>He said after the release of the victim, detectives of the command swung into action and nabbed the suspect at Kontagora.<\/p>\n<p>He added that the suspect confessed to the crime and mentioned nine other members of the group, currently at large.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are doing everything humanly possible to arrest all those involved in the case for prosecution,\u2019\u2019 he said.<\/p>\n<p>Similarly, Abubakar said that operatives at GRA Division of the Police also arrested a commercial motorcyclist along Bomas road in Minna.<\/p>\n<p>He said that the suspect was alleged to have abducted a three-year-old girl, Stephanie Yisa, of Dutsen Kura Gwari in Bosso Local Government Area.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe suspect confessed to have taken the victim from her mother when she stopped him at Dutsen Kura Gwari Minna to convey her and the victim to Police Children School Minna.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe said that he zoomed off before the mother could climb the motorcycle.\u2019\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Abubakar said that the suspect would be charged to court after investigation.\n<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Niger State Police Command has arrested one suspect for alleged kidnapping a man in Kontagora area of the State.
