{"id":68681,"date":"2018-12-10T23:59:40","date_gmt":"2018-12-10T22:59:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=68681"},"modified":"2018-12-11T00:01:31","modified_gmt":"2018-12-10T23:01:31","slug":"four-dead-as-trailer-crushes-taxi-on-ibadan-oyo-expressway","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=68681","title":{"rendered":"Four dead as trailer crushes taxi on Ibadan-Oyo expressway"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/arewa.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/FRSC.jpeg\"><\/p>\n<div id=\"mvp-content-main\">A taxi was on Monday crushed by a trailer along the ever-busy Ibadan-Oyo Expressway, killing four passengers on the spot.<\/p>\n<p>The accident occurred at about 12:15 pm on Monday after the trailer reportedly rammed into the ill-fated taxi near an overhead bridge in Akinyele area of Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, NAN reports.<\/p>\n<p>Eyewitness said driver of the trailer lost control after a break failure.<\/p>\n<p>Report said the corpses and two other occupants, who sustained varying degrees of injuries, were taken to the State Hospital in Adeoyo.<\/p>\n<p>The Public Relations Officer (PRO), Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), in Oyo State, Mr. Seun Onijala, confirmed the incident.<\/p>\n<p>He said a team of the corps\u2019 in Akinyele had been dispatched to the scene as at press time.<\/p>\n<p>Onijala assured that normalcy would be returned within hours, urging motorists not to panic about the traffic situation.\n<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A taxi was on Monday crushed by a trailer along the ever-busy Ibadan-Oyo Expressway, killing four passengers on the spot.
