The pan-Yoruba socio-political organization, Afenifere has called for the replacement of the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Mahmood Yakubu.<\/p>\n

Afenifere expressed dissatisfaction with the INEC level of preparedness to conduct a free, fair and credible elections in the country as 2019 draws nearer.<\/p>\n

Speaking through its National Leader, Chief Ayo Adebanjo, the organization demanded that the whole INEC team be disbanded.<\/p>\n

Adebanjo spoke to reporters at Toru-Orua, hometown of Bayelsa State Governor, Hon Seriake Dickson during the burial ceremony of his late mother, Mrs Goldcoast Dickson.<\/p>\n

He said, \u201cWe have said it before that we don\u2019t have any trust in INEC as it is presently constituted.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn fact, we are of the view that the whole team should be disbanded.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor us to have a free and fair election, there should be no relation of a contestant in the presidential election in INEC\u2019s leadership.\u201d<\/p>\n
