{"id":67255,"date":"2018-12-05T14:38:55","date_gmt":"2018-12-05T13:38:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=67255"},"modified":"2018-12-05T14:42:19","modified_gmt":"2018-12-05T13:42:19","slug":"gunmen-abduct-eight-college-workers-kill-one-in-osun","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=67255","title":{"rendered":"Gunmen abduct eight college workers, kill one in Osun"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/arewa.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/gunmennn.jpg\"><\/p>\n<div id=\"mvp-content-main\">Eight staff of the Osun College of Technology, Esa-Oke, have been kidnapped by unidentified gunmen along Esa-Oke road in Osun State.<\/p>\n<p>The Public Relations Officer of the college, Mr Adewale Oyekanmi, who disclosed this to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), said the gunmen also shot dead another staff who attempted to escape from the scene of the incident at about 4:30pm.<\/p>\n<p>According to Oyekanmi, the gunmen blocked Esa-Oke Road (a road leading to the college campus), stopped several vehicles including the victims\u2019 vehicles and abducted them.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo far, the gunmen have not made contact with the families of the kidnapped persons or with the college management.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe police, Department of State Security and men of the OPC are combing the bushes to see if they can rescue the kidnapped staff,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking on the incident, the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mrs Folashade Odoro told NAN that the police were aware of the matter.<\/p>\n<p>Odoro said the command would issue an official statement soon.<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Eight staff of the Osun College of Technology, Esa-Oke, have been kidnapped by unidentified gunmen along Esa-Oke road in Osun State.
