{"id":64525,"date":"2018-11-26T09:08:05","date_gmt":"2018-11-26T08:08:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=64525"},"modified":"2018-11-26T09:08:36","modified_gmt":"2018-11-26T08:08:36","slug":"2019-beware-of-nigerians-wrath-cleric-warns-politicians","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=64525","title":{"rendered":"2019: Beware of Nigerians&#8217; wrath &#8211; Cleric warns politicians"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/arewa.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/news23.jpg\"><\/p>\n<div id=\"mvp-content-main\">The pastor in charge of Christ Apostolic Church, Ori Oke Ikoyi, Osun State, Prophet Olutope Adeyemo, has advised the nation\u2019s leaders to strive to do things right to give the masses hope and future.<\/p>\n<p>Adeyemo, who said this was necessary to prevent revolt of the masses, also advised the Nigerian masses to choose the right leaders by desisting from selling their votes, which he described as their birthrights.<\/p>\n<p>The cleric, who spoke at a press conference heralding the yearly interdenominational crusade of his church, with the theme: \u201cMy Glory Must Shine\u201d holding at CAC Primary School, Abiri Ikoyi, Osun State, said \u201cthere is hope for Nigeria if we resolve to do things right\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>He said: \u201cWe shall continue to pray for this nation. We should repent from our sinful ways. Nigerians should strive to choose right leaders by desisting from selling their votes. We should seek ways to utilize what we have here not depending on foreign characters, product and services\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLeaders should remember that they became leaders because they have who and what to lead. They should remember that masses are their power. They should allow the nation\u2019s resources to benefit all. Let them give masses hope and future by making provision for what will make life easier for them \u2013 if not, they will taste the wrath and feel the power of masses one day.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe politicians and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) must make the coming election free and fair. The politicians must not entice the electorate with money or make them panic by using thugs and military involvement.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cINEC must not be biased. There must never be order from above. Let the votes count, let us do it right this time, let our conscience work and vindicate us. We must remember God the great judge who will judge us according to our work and deeds,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Adeyemo lamented that corruption among many clerics has contributed to the growing rate of crimes and social vices in the country, saying the quest for material and economic gains and the craze for luxurious living standard by many clerics had prevented them from speaking the truth.<\/p>\n<p>The cleric, who said: \u201cA nation with corrupt religious leaders pastors will have corrupt Church and corrupt society\u201d, stressed that: \u201cThere is no fear of God in our churches and society today, no sound teaching of good morals, Jesus love and His ways.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMost pastors of nowadays are not called by God, many became pastor because of what to eat, many because they want to live a luxurious life, some who are called have derailed because of the nation\u2019s economic instability and insecurity,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Adeyemo, who said there is way out if such characters return to God, said the crusade would provide yet another opportunity for Nigerians to reconcile with God; get freedom from all forms of bondage and demonic attacks; and as well prayers for Nigeria over economic crisis, insecurity and the forthcoming election.\n<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The pastor in charge of Christ Apostolic Church, Ori Oke Ikoyi, Osun State, Prophet Olutope Adeyemo, has advised the nation\u2019s leaders to strive to do things right to give the masses hope and future.
