The People\u2019s Democratic, PDP, governorship candidate in Lagos state, Jimi Agbaje, has reacted to the campaign promise by his All Progressives Congress, APC, counterpart, Babajide Sanwoolu, to run a transparent budgetary system, saying he is making an empty promises to hoodwink Lagosians.<\/p>\n

Agbaje challenged Sanwo-Olu to let Lagosians know if he would probe Alpha-Beta, the private consultancy that has been the sole management of the state\u2019s Internally Generated Revenue in the last 19 years.<\/p>\n

In a press statement signed by his Director of Media and Publicity, Felix Oboagwina, Agbaje said the APC candidate was trying to hide behind one finger.<\/p>\n

He said Sanwo-Olu was being economical with the truth by claiming ignorance during an interaction with internet media practitioners, that the APC regime has deliberately shrouded Lagos State\u2019s revenue and expenditure in secrecy.<\/p>\n

According to Agbaje, Sanwo-Olu was making a vain attempt to hoodwink Lagosians, who know very well that the \u201cBourdillon cabal\u201d controls funds accruing to the state and was ready to sacrifice anyone who attempted to rock the boat by attempting any scrutiny.<\/p>\n

He said, \u201cCan Sanwoolu afford to bite the finger that fed him? The answer is obvious. For a Sanwoolu who, between 2003 and 2015, served as Commissioner for Economic Planning and Budget, Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, and Commissioner for Establishments, Training and Pensions, to claim ignorance of this perfidy is to take Lagosians for fools. It paints him as someone Lagosians cannot trust with the governorship.<\/p>\n

\u201cLagosians will find the APC\u2019s candidate pledge very amusing because citizens know he lacks the political will to make such a decision without clearing with his godfathers in Bourdillon.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut Sanwo-Olu\u2019s words clearly show that APC knows the right thing to do but deliberately refuses to do it. Their level of insincerity is unbelievable and they deserve to be rejected at the polls come 2019.\u201d\n<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
