<\/p>\nThe group said a recent media report that Abuja cabal had concluded plan to lure members of the Benue State House of Assembly with N300 million each to impeach the State Governor would be resisted.<\/p>\n
Comrade Terrence Kuanum, President, Benue Youths Forum, vowed that youths from the state would stand gallantly behind the governor and resist any attempt to throw the state into unnecessary chaos.<\/p>\n
Kuanum said, \u201cWe youths of the state under the aiges of Benue Youths Forum, BYF, condemn the said plot in its totality and warn those behind the plan to shelve it, as it will not succeed.<\/p>\n
\u201dWe further warn that those who want to push Benue State into an avoidable political crisis should know that their evil agenda is not only suspected but clearly known. We will resist any attempt to throw our state into unnecessary chaos.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe same people attempted in July to impeach Governor Ortom with only eight assembly members but failed. This fresh plot too will fail.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe call on the Speaker and honourable members of the Benue State House of Assembly to remain resolute and reject the plot to impeach the Governor. Their demonstration of courage and integrity saved democracy when Senator George Akume, with the help of enemies of the state in Abuja, sponsored that show of shame called impeachment move in July.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe commend the 22 honourable members of the House and encourage them to say another resounding NO to the monetary inducement as they did earlier. They are true heroes of democracy.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe understand that plan B of the agenda is to trigger political instability in the state that will be targeted at opponents of the Federal government. This too, we condemn and urge security forces to step up their game and arrest those planning to throw Benue into crisis.
