{"id":62879,"date":"2018-11-19T22:52:56","date_gmt":"2018-11-19T21:52:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=62879"},"modified":"2018-11-19T22:58:06","modified_gmt":"2018-11-19T21:58:06","slug":"why-nigerians-should-support-buhari-in-2019-niger-delta-ex-agitators","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=62879","title":{"rendered":"Why Nigerians should support Buhari in 2019 &#8211; Niger Delta ex-agitators"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/arewa.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/1539812635_2019-Presidency-Obasanjo-finally-joins-Buhari-Campaign-Organisation.png\"><\/p>\n<div id=\"mvp-content-main\">A Leader of the Coalition of Niger Delta ex-Agitators, Comrade Steve Ebisintei, has urged Nigerians to support President Muhammadu Buhari\u2019s re-election in 2019.<\/p>\n<p>Ebisintei also urged Niger Delta ex-agitators under phases one, two and three of the Presidential Amnesty Programme to support Buhari in order to enable the President complete what he started in the region.<\/p>\n<p>Ebisintei gave this advice on Monday in Abuja, NAN reports.<\/p>\n<p>He argued that stakeholders must rally round the reelection project of Buhari to enable the region benefit from the numerous programmes and projects of the president.<\/p>\n<p>Ebisintei said: \u201cPresident Buhari remains the only president since the return of democracy in 1999 who has initiated projects and programmes that are directly beneficial to the people of the Niger Delta.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNot supporting the re-election of Buhari will only hurt the region more as many of the ongoing projects in the area may likely stop.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWithout equivocation, I can tell you that more than ever before, the Federal Government under President Buhari has paid more attention to our devastated region than any other government at least since 1999.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cToday, modular refineries, which when completed will take over from illegal refiners and create jobs for our teeming youths are ongoing in the region.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe East-West road, which had prior to now remained in the pipelines, has been progressing with appreciable speed and the Petroleum University at Okerenkoko in Delta is progressing in good measure.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Amnesty programme has been revived and expanded in the interest of youths of our region; it is the only programme that is targeted at the youth and it is evident that Prof. Dokubo has integrated more youths into the programme than any other Amnesty boss before him.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBecause of the sterling performance of Buhari\u2019s administration in the area of peace-building, which has resulted in decrease in the spate of militancy in the region, the dark days of avengers and other militant groups in the region are in the past.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAll these achievements can be traced to the Midas touch of Prof. Quaker Dokubo and therefore, we as a region must encourage the amnesty boss by supporting Buhari.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ebisintei however cautioned politicians from the region to avoid misleading youths for their own selfish political gains ahead of the 2019 elections\n<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A Leader of the Coalition of Niger Delta ex-Agitators, Comrade Steve Ebisintei, has urged Nigerians to support President Muhammadu Buhari\u2019s re-election in 2019.
