<\/p>\nOgunlade was arrested after reportedly having carnal knowledge of the victim at Oke-Aro area of Akure, the Ondo State capital.<\/p>\n
Parading the suspect at the state headquarters, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Femi Joseph on Thursday said that Mr. Ogunlade, a carpenter took advantage of the 20-year-old girl\u2019s condition.<\/p>\n
He disclosed that the mother of the victim, Mrs. Oluranti Ogunbiyi, reported the incident to the police.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe man (Ogunlade) came to the neighborhood for a carpentry work and decided to take the advantage and challenge of the autistic child.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe gave the young girl a fifty naira note and had the carnal knowledge of her.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is unfortunate that this man who is happily married with three kids descended to abuse of moral prolifigacy by taking advantage of this autistic child.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is shame but the law will have to take its cause and he will have his days in court by telling the Judge of how he committed the crime.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs usual, he has blamed the act on the devil but beyond that we would request him to prove that beyond all reasonable doubt,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
The PPRO, however, urged parents and guardians to always give close monitoring to their wards in order to protect them from criminal minded individuals.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe using this opportunity to advise the parents to always monitor their wards because there are now many people whose stock in trades is to commit this devilish act,\u201d he noted.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, blaming the devil for committing the crime, the suspect disclosed that he only fingered the girl.<\/p>\n
\u201cI came for some carpentry work in the house and the young lady just passed through the passage of the house.<\/p>\n
\u201cI decided to call her by holding her hand, she hold mine too. I draw her to bathroom but I did not raped her.<\/p>\n
