{"id":61394,"date":"2018-11-14T16:34:02","date_gmt":"2018-11-14T15:34:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=61394"},"modified":"2018-11-14T16:34:40","modified_gmt":"2018-11-14T15:34:40","slug":"12-year-old-boy-drowns-in-kano","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=61394","title":{"rendered":"12-year-old boy drowns in Kano"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/arewa.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/drowning_0_0_0_0.jpg\"><\/p>\n<div id=\"mvp-content-main\">A 12-year-old boy, Saifilahi Isa, on Tuesday, drowned in a well in Bagadawa community in Dawakin Tofa LGA of Kano State.<\/p>\n<p>Spokesman for Kano State Fire Service, Alhaji Saidu Mohammed, confirmed the incident to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Kano on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>Mohammed said that the incident occurred at about 3:08 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>He said Isa was sent by his mother to go and fetch water from the well.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe received a distress call on Tuesday evening from our division at Dawanau at 3:08 p.m. that a boy had fallen into a well.<\/p>\n<p>\u201dOn receiving the information, we quickly sent our rescue team to the scene at 3:25 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIsa was rescued unconscious and was conveyed to Dawakin Tofa General Hospital where he was confirmed dead,\u201d Mohammed said.<\/p>\n<p>He advised parents who had wells in their homes to raise their heights and provide covers for same to protect children.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A 12-year-old boy, Saifilahi Isa, on Tuesday, drowned in a well in Bagadawa community in Dawakin Tofa LGA of Kano State.
