{"id":59207,"date":"2018-11-07T07:21:32","date_gmt":"2018-11-07T06:21:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=59207"},"modified":"2018-11-07T07:21:54","modified_gmt":"2018-11-07T06:21:54","slug":"veteran-musician-emmanuel-ntia-is-dead","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=59207","title":{"rendered":"Veteran musician, Emmanuel Ntia is dead"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/arewa.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/Veteran-musician-Emmanuel-Ntia-is-dead.jpeg\"><\/p>\n<div id=\"mvp-content-main\">Veteran Nigerian highlife musician, Emmanuel Ntia, has passed on at 94.<\/p>\n<p>According to the News Agency of Nigeria,NAN, Ntia who was well known for his major hit, \u2018The Fish Song\u2019, which rocked dance halls in the late sixties and early seventies died on Monday in his hometown, Abak, Akwa Ibom.<\/p>\n<p>Ntai bagged COSON Roll of Honour at the society\u2019s 5th Anniversary in Lagos in 2015 for his outstanding contributions to the defence of the rights of creative people in Nigeria.<\/p>\n<p>In his tribute, COSON Chairman, Tony Okoroji praised late Emmanuel Ntia for his \u201cunsurpassed dedication\u201d to the cause of musicians in Nigeria.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEmmanuel Ntia was a truly great and ageless Nigerian performer who stood for what he believed in till the end.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDespite our significant age difference, he treated me like his brother and was one of my great supporters both in my roles as President of PMAN and Chairman of COSON.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere was nothing anyone could have given Ntia that would have made him abandon COSON.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe was 100% committed to the COSON cause and will be remembered forever,\u201d he said.\n<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Veteran Nigerian highlife musician, Emmanuel Ntia, has passed on at 94.
