Manchester United have handed Jose Mourinho \u00a3100m to sign two players.<\/p>\n

The Portuguese was also told to sign defenders, Leicester City\u2019s Harry Maguire and Toby Alderweireld from Tottenham with the fund.<\/p>\n

United\u2019s Executive Vice-chairman, Ed Woodward is said to have opined that either of the player represented value for money.<\/p>\n

Mourinho missed out on several key defensive targets in the summer.<\/p>\n

Mourinho has consistently warned the club\u2019s hierarchy and fans to expect a difficult season after he missed out on a number of his primary transfer targets over the summer.<\/p>\n

Toby Alderweireld was wanted by Mourinho in the summer while Nikola Milenkovic was recently scouted by Portuguese during the international break.<\/p>\n

He also had interest in Bayern Munich\u2019s Jerome Boateng, who rejected a move to Untied<\/p>\n

Mourinho\u2019s first choice, has, however, been Real Madrid\u2019s Raphael Varane.<\/p>\n

The Guardian, UK, reports that Mourinho has been handed the funds to ensure he is not left empty handed in January.<\/p>\n
