{"id":55761,"date":"2018-10-26T21:52:34","date_gmt":"2018-10-26T20:52:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=55761"},"modified":"2018-10-26T21:52:34","modified_gmt":"2018-10-26T20:52:34","slug":"2019-presidency-what-will-happen-if-pdp-wins-election-amaechi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=55761","title":{"rendered":"2019 Presidency: What Will Happen If PDP Wins Election \u2013 Amaechi"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div>\n<p><span class=\"ds-1col file file-image file-image-jpeg view-mode-embedded centered clearfix block-story-object block-story-object-resource block-story-object-resource-image\"><br \/>\n<span class=\"block-story-object-asset\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"media-element file-embedded\" src=\"http:\/\/arewa.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/2019-Presidency-What-Will-Happen-If-PDP-Wins-Election-\u2013-Amaechi.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/span><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi has told Nigerians that it would be disastrous if the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, returns to power in 2029.<\/p>\n<p>Amaechi said the party was \u201cdesperate and hungry for power.\u2019\u2019<\/p>\n<p>He spoke at a Special Town Hall Meeting on Infrastructure organised by the Ministry of Information and Culture in Ibadan.<\/p>\n<p>The Minister said the PDP, while in power, turned the nation to a \u201cfeeding bottle\u201d by abandoning critical infrastructure and \u201c sucking\u201d the economy for personal gains.<\/p>\n<p>The minister urged Nigerians to resist the PDP by voting for Buhari and ensuring that they guarded their votes during the 2019 general elections.<\/p>\n<p>Amaechi also said that the ruling party was prepared for an open debate with the PDP on the successes recorded, especially on infrastructure development.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are ready for the PDP candidate to confront us with what they achieved in 16 years and compare them to what we have done in just three and half years.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are open for the debate, our achievements on infrastructure are there to showcase,\u201d he said.<br \/>\nThe minister disclosed that the government was working hard to ensure the completion of Lagos-Ibadan standard gauge rail project by February 2019.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are working day and night on this project and we have started laying the tracks from Papalanto.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI want to thank the people and the communities along the rail tracks for their cooperation because they have never given us trouble,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>The minister also said that after completing the Lagos-Ibadan section of the project, the focus would turn to the Lagos-Kano standard gauge.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; &nbsp; The Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi has told Nigerians that it would be disastrous if the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, returns to power in 2029.
