{"id":52587,"date":"2018-10-15T22:38:11","date_gmt":"2018-10-15T21:38:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=52587"},"modified":"2018-10-15T22:40:18","modified_gmt":"2018-10-15T21:40:18","slug":"apc-speaks-on-kano-govs-bribery-scandal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=52587","title":{"rendered":"APC speaks on Kano Gov&#8217;s bribery scandal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/arewa.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/5m-bribe-What-Buhari-EFCC-should-immediately-do-to-Gov.-Ganduje-CACOL.png\"><\/p>\n<div id=\"mvp-content-main\">The All Progressives Congress (APC) has spoken on the allegations of bribe-taking levelled against Kano Governor, Umar Ganduje.<\/p>\n<p>The party said since Ganduje had gone to court, it could not take a position on the matter.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe matter is in court, the governor has taken the medium to court,\u201d party spokesperson, Lanre Issa-Onilu told Premium Times.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe cannot comment on a matter that is already before a law court.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the Kano House of Assembly has opened probe of videos showing Ganduje, collecting stacks of dollars in bribe.<\/p>\n<p>Raising a matter of urgent public importance on Monday, a member representing Warawa Constituency, Labaran Madari, said the assembly should investigate the authenticity of the video and take measures.<\/p>\n<p>Madari said the videos had brought the institution of governance in the state to disrepute, and therefore the need for the legislators to take urgent action.<\/p>\n<p>The matter was seconded by Baffa Dan\u2019Agundi, a member representing Kano Municipal.<\/p>\n<p>Responding, the speaker, Alhassan Rurum, constituted a seven-man committee to investigate the matter and report back to the assembly.<\/p>\n<p>Members of the committee include Baffa Dan\u2019Agundi (Kano Municipal) as chairman; Labaran Madari (Warawa) member; Garba Gafasa (Ajingi), member; and Zubairu Masu, (Sumaila) member.<\/p>\n<p>Others are Ayuba Labaran (Kabo) member; Abubakar Galadima (Bebeji), member; Garba Yau Gwarmai (Kunchi\/Tsanyawa), member and; Mujtafa Amin, secretary.\n<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The All Progressives Congress (APC) has spoken on the allegations of bribe-taking levelled against Kano Governor, Umar Ganduje.
