{"id":50308,"date":"2018-10-08T17:25:01","date_gmt":"2018-10-08T16:25:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=50308"},"modified":"2018-10-08T17:25:29","modified_gmt":"2018-10-08T16:25:29","slug":"ndlea-arrest-103-suspected-drug-traffickers-in-edo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=50308","title":{"rendered":"NDLEA arrest 103 suspected drug traffickers in Edo"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/arewa.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/NDLEA.jpg\"><\/p>\n<div id=\"mvp-content-main\">The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, in Edo State has arrested 103 suspects for trafficking illicit drugs.<\/p>\n<p>The Head of Operations and Intelligence in the command, Mr Peter Ogar made the disclosure in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Benin on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>He said the suspects include 88 males and 15 females, also arrested between July and September in various parts of the state.<\/p>\n<p>Ogar revealed that more than 4,000 kilograms of Indian hemp were seized within the period while 14 farmlands of about 10 hectares cultivated with the plant, were destroyed.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018\u2019The command has rehabilitated 79 drug addicts who has reunited with their families, while two are still undergoing intensive rehabilitation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is peak period for traffickers because it is the harvest season.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018\u2019This has led to an upsurge in the arrest of suspects and seizures by the agency.\u2019\u2019 he said.\n<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, in Edo State has arrested 103 suspects for trafficking illicit drugs.
