The former Special Assistant to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, Doyin Okupe, has declared that the Senate President, Bukola Saraki was never meant to emerge as the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.<\/p>\n

Saraki, who was a leading PDP Presidential aspirant had lost the party\u2019s ticket to former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar over the weekend.<\/p>\n

Abubakar had polled a total of 1532 votes to beat 12 other contestants during the party\u2019s primary election in Port Harcourt, Rivers State<\/p>\n

But, Okupe said Saraki fought a good fight and ran what he termed \u201cthe best campaign.\u201d<\/p>\n

In a series of tweets, Okupe wrote: \u201cTHIS IS the MORNING AFTER.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe #GrowNigeria team lost. But I\u2019m proud of our leader and aspirant, A.B. SARAKI, for his vision, courage, and brilliance.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe fought a good fight and ran the best campaign. The best media team,& wt d most youthful http:\/\/appeal.It was not meant to be. Glory be to God.<\/p>\n

\u201cAtiku\u2019s nomination as the Presidential flag bearer of the PDP is a victory for the RESTRUCTURING AGENDA.
