A forensic analysis has declared the 2017 video showing the former Governor of Kano state, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, allegedly receiving bundles of dollar notes as a bribe from a contractor and stuffing them in his flowing dress as authentic and not doctored.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This was made known by Muhuyi Rimingado, the Chairman of the Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission, during \u201cA One Day Public Dialogue on Anti-Corruption Crusade in Kano.” Since the release of the video, there has been pressure to confirm or debunk Ganduje’s innocence or guilt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Rimingado disclosed that proving Ganduje’s guilt or innocence had been impossible since the commission started an investigation into the allegations in 2018 due to the former governor’s immunity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Meanwhile, Ganduje has requested a Kano State High Court to restrain the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission from investigating him over the matter. The former Attorney General of the State filed a suit before the high court, asking for a halt on the EFCC probe until a lawsuit between Ganduje and Jafaar Jafaar, the publisher of the Daily Nigerian, is resolved.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
