{"id":486020,"date":"2023-02-27T18:55:54","date_gmt":"2023-02-27T17:55:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=486020"},"modified":"2023-02-27T18:58:21","modified_gmt":"2023-02-27T17:58:21","slug":"2023-utme-registration-ends","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=486020","title":{"rendered":"2023 UTME registration ends"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>Following an extension of one week announced by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), the registration period for the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME) has now come to an end.<\/p>\n<p>Dr Fabian Benjamin, in charge of the board\u2019s public affairs and protocol, said this in a statement on Wednesday in Abuja.<\/p>\n<p>You may remember that the board gave the extension to help candidates who couldn\u2019t register for the 2023 UTME between January 14 and February 14 because of what was happening in the country then.<\/p>\n<p>Benjamin said that about 1.6 million people had signed up for the 2023 UTME by the end of the registration period.<\/p>\n<p>\u201d This number does not include the Direct Entry component of the exercise, which had started on Monday, February 20 2023, before it was put on hold on Tuesday, February 21 2023.<\/p>\n<p>\u201d The board registrar\u2019s monitoring team, which has gone around the country, was in Nasarawa and Delta states on the final day of the exercise to oversee its conclusion.<\/p>\n<p>\u201d In Asaba, Delta State, the team visited Trinity Innovation Hub CBT Centre; Delta State Polytechnic, Ogwashi-Uku CBT Centre 1 and 2; Delta State Library CBT and others.<\/p>\n<p>\u201d It was, however, remarkable that none of these centres has any candidates waiting to be registered, indicating that almost all candidates who desire to register for the exercise have done so,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Benjamin also said that the same thing happened in many centres in Nasarawa State.
