The Nigeria Police Force has commenced preparation for the 2023 general elections.<\/p>\n
Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi gave the hint at a press briefing on Friday.<\/p>\n
Inspector General Usman Baba will preside over a conference and retreat for Senior Police Officers in Owerri, the Imo capital.<\/p>\n
The gathering will discuss how the Force can play a play more effective and efficient role in the management of election security.<\/p>\n
Adejobi announced that Baba had outlined tailored strategies as the country prepares for the transfer of power next May.<\/p>\n
\u201cThese include training to enhance the capacity of officers and men to respond to threats to the general elections and adequately manage national security\u201d, he said.<\/p>\n
The FPRO assured that the police were unrelenting in ensuring that the people experienced a friendly policing system.<\/p>\n
The spokesperson said the Force was determined to tackle villains and other purveyors of crime and criminality.<\/p>\n
However, Baba has inaugurated \u2018Operation Restore Peace\u2019 to restore order in the South-East region.<\/p>\n
The IGP has also launched \u2018Operation Sahara Storm\u2019 in Sokoto to combat banditry in the northern parts of Nigeria.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
