Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) said clerics that attended the unveiling of Bola Tinubu\u2019s running mate, Kashim Shettima are not fake.<\/p>\n
MURIC Director, Professor Ishaq Akintola issued a statement on Friday in reaction to the dissociation by the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN).<\/p>\n
Akintola said despite the brouhaha over the Muslim-Muslim ticket, \u201cmany bishops and pastors\u201d attended the event.<\/p>\n
MURIC accused the Christian leadership of shying away from reality and living in self-denial.<\/p>\n
\u201cGoing by the findings, it is now very clear that leaders of CAN have distanced themselves from reality,\u201d it said.<\/p>\n
\u201cHow low can a religious body descend? What does CAN stand to gain by deceiving its followers?<\/p>\n
MURIC also listed some of those it maintained are genuine clergymen that graced the APC event.<\/p>\n
Akintola said Bishop Kamoru is \u201ca real cleric from Peace Chapel, Mararaba\u201d, in Nasarawa State.<\/p>\n
\u201cA picture has emerged where he was seen conducting a wedding in the church. Some members have come up to say that they knew him personally.<\/p>\n
\u201cReverend Father Hyacinth Alia, of Gboko Catholic Diocese, Benue State, is also the APC Governorship candidate.<\/p>\n
\u201cPastor Prince Ugokwe, also confirmed that he is a real pastor and not fake\u201d, the Islamic group added.<\/p>\n
MURIC noted that CAN \u201cis not to be trusted\u201d for CAN disowning \u201cbut knowledgeable bishops and pastors\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis shows that a caucus within the leadership of CAN has unleashed tyranny of the oligarchy on Christendom in Nigeria\u201d, the statement added.<\/p>\n
