{"id":448263,"date":"2022-05-19T16:09:19","date_gmt":"2022-05-19T15:09:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=448263"},"modified":"2022-05-19T16:11:29","modified_gmt":"2022-05-19T15:11:29","slug":"police-reacts-to-reports-of-riot-at-lugbe-abuja","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=448263","title":{"rendered":"Police reacts to reports of riot at Lugbe, Abuja"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The FCT Police Command has dismissed reports alleging that a riot was ongoing and motorists and innocent citizens were being attacked at the Lugbe Abuja.<\/p>\n<p>A video had emerged on social media claiming some Hausa youths were seen throwing stones at vehicles and others seen with sticks hitting on the windscreen of cars in Abuja.<\/p>\n<p>But a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Josephine Adeh said the Commissioner of Police, FCT, CP Babaji Sunday said the video was not from Abuja.<\/p>\n<p>She said security operatives were deployed to the area and they discovered nothing of such occurred.<\/p>\n<p>It reads, \u201cThe attention of the Commissioner of Police, FCT Police Command, CP Babaji Sunday, has been drawn to a video making the rounds on social media platforms about an incident which is being credited to have happened in Lugbe, FCT Abuja.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe CP wishes to state categorically that there is no such incident in Lugbe as he is currently on patrol with operatives around the Lugbe-Airport Road axis.<\/p>\n<p>Sunday further urged Nigerians to go about their lawful businesses.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The FCT Police Command has dismissed reports alleging that a riot was ongoing and motorists and innocent citizens were being attacked at the Lugbe Abuja.
