The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa\u2019ad Abubakar III has expressed grief over the death of 29 teenagers in a boat accident in Sokoto.<\/p>\n
The incident occurred on Wednesday in Gidan-Magana village in Shagari Local Government Area.<\/p>\n
The monarch, currently in Saudi Arabia for Umrah (lesser Hajj), sent his sympathies to the bereaved families, people and government of the state.<\/p>\n
The Sultan, represented by the Sarkin Kabin Yabo, Muhammadu Maiturare at a condolence visit, described the incident as an act of God.<\/p>\n
\u201cAll of us mortals must die, must at one time or the other die, and we pray to the Almighty Allah to grant them Aljannat Firdaus.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are also fervently praying for Him to grant the families, people and government of Sokoto the formidable fortitude to bear the irreplaceable losses\u201d, NAN quoted him saying.<\/p>\n
Rep. Abubakar Umar (APC-Sokoto) has also condoled with the families and people of the village.<\/p>\n
