The Police Command in Ogun State on Sunday said it had arrested a suspected armed robber, Isikilu Moses while carrying out an operation in Joju area in Sango-Ota.<\/p>\n
Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, said in a statement issued to newsmen in Ota, Ogun, that the suspect was arrested on April 8.<\/p>\n
Oyeyemi explained that the suspect was arrested following a distress call received at Sango-Ota Divisional Headquarters.<\/p>\n
The PPRO explained that armed robbers had invaded Adebeshi Street, off Joju road, and dispossessed members of the community of their belongings.<\/p>\n
\u201cUpon the distress call, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Sango-Ota Division, SP Saleh Dahiru, quickly mobilised his patrol team and moved to the scene.<\/p>\n
\u201cOn sighting the policemen, the hoodlums took to their heels, but they were hotly chased, and one of the suspects named Isikilu Moses, was apprehended.<\/p>\n
\u201cRecovered from the suspect are one locally-made pistol and two mobile phones belonging to their victims,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
She said the Commissioner of Police, Lanre Bankole, had ordered the immediate transfer of the suspect to the state criminal investigation and intelligence department for investigation.<\/p>\n
