The Chief Imam of Apo Legislative Quarters Mosque in Abuja, Shiekh Nuru Khalid, on Sunday, reacted to his suspension, over his criticisms of President Muhammadu Buhari.<\/p>\n
Shiekh Khalid said only God can enthrone and dethrone.<\/p>\n
The Islamic scholar had berated the Buhari government over the spate of insecurity in Nigeria.<\/p>\n
Khalid had urged Nigerians to boycott elections if the government can\u2019t protect them.<\/p>\n
Following his sermon, the mosque committee suspended him.<\/p>\n
Disclosing this, the Chairman of the committee, Senator Saidu Dansadau said the Imam\u2019s message was \u2018inciting\u2019 and could cause public outrage.<\/p>\n
Reacting to the development, Khalid in a Facebook post, wrote: \u201cGod is the most powerful. He gives (enthrones) and takes away power (dethrones) from whomever He wishes.<\/p>\n
