{"id":418713,"date":"2021-11-29T22:21:55","date_gmt":"2021-11-29T21:21:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=418713"},"modified":"2021-11-29T22:29:18","modified_gmt":"2021-11-29T21:29:18","slug":"epl-hes-won-just-one-trophy-souness-slams-man-united-over-rangnicks-appointment","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=418713","title":{"rendered":"EPL: He&#8217;s won just one trophy &#8211; Souness slams Man United over Rangnick\u2019s appointment"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"mvp-content-main\">Liverpool legend, Graeme Souness, has slammed Manchester United over the appointment of former Schalke O4 boss, Ralf Rangnick.<\/p>\n<p>Souness believes Rangnick has not done enough and does not know the Premier League enough to be appointed the manager of a big club like Manchester United.<\/p>\n<p>He also noted that what the Red Devils need at the moment is instant result and not the long term.project of Rangnick.<\/p>\n<p>The 63-year-old was announced as the replacement of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer on Monday, a day after Michael Carrick led the Red Devils to a 1-1 draw with League leaders Chelsea.<\/p>\n<p>Solskjaer was sacked last week after a poor run of results and Rangnick has now been given a six-month deal at the Theatre of Dreams.<\/p>\n<p>Rangnick\u2019s job may begin Thursday when United file out against Arsenal but Souness has written off his chances before he\u2019s even begun.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t get it, the man\u2019s CV\u2026 you wouldn\u2019t go wild, it doesn\u2019t jump out at you, he\u2019s not been super successful,\u201d Souness told TalkSPORT.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe\u2019s won just one trophy. His talent would appear to go into a football club and develop the structure for it to develop and improve over a five-to-ten year period.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s not what Manchester United need right now, Manchester need it instantly \u2013 they need someone to make an impact now.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s a healthy group of players there now there\u2019s no doubt about it, the previous manager Ole didn\u2019t get the best out of them, they\u2019ve got more to give. That\u2019s what you\u2019re judged on.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRight now Man Utd have an under-performing group of players. Will this guy who has never been in the English Premier League be able to do that? I don\u2019t think so.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t get this appointment on any level. He\u2019s going to take a consultancy role? Nice pension for him! He\u2019s 63-years-old, lovely job if you can get that sort of work.
