{"id":416504,"date":"2021-11-20T21:08:26","date_gmt":"2021-11-20T20:08:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=416504"},"modified":"2021-11-20T21:20:10","modified_gmt":"2021-11-20T20:20:10","slug":"watford-vs-man-utd-solskjaer-must-hand-over-to-new-manager-rio-ferdinand-insists","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=416504","title":{"rendered":"Watford vs Man Utd: Solskjaer must hand over to new manager &#8211; Rio Ferdinand insists"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"mvp-content-main\">Manchester United legend, Rio Ferdinand has reiterated his call for the sack of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the club\u2019s manager.<\/p>\n<p>United have endured a difficult period recently, with embarrassing defeats against Leicester City, Liverpool and Manchester City.<\/p>\n<p>The Red Devils are already nine points behind league leaders Chelsea, with serious questions being asked of Solskjaer\u2019s ability to get the club competing for titles again.<\/p>\n<p>Ferdinand had earlier told the Norwegian to \u2018hand over the baton\u2019 to a new manager.<\/p>\n<p>Asked how hard it was to call for Solskjaer to be sacked, Ferdinand ahead of Manchester United clash against Watford, Ferdinand told BT Sport: \u201cIt wasn\u2019t, if I\u2019m being honest.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve seen some people, some friends of mine, say it\u2019s difficult, that you can\u2019t do it, but listen we\u2019re all quick to talk about players, \u2018he should never wear the shirt again\u2019 I hear lots of people say, so it\u2019s got to be the same with the managers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cListen I\u2019m not sitting here saying I\u2019m enjoying saying I want a manager to lose his job, I\u2019m just saying that things aren\u2019t going well, so maybe there needs to be a change if you want to improve things.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd I think that\u2019s just an honest assessment of it. And that\u2019s what I\u2019m paid to do, give an honest assessment whether it\u2019s friends, former teammates or people that I don\u2019t know.
