{"id":414974,"date":"2021-11-14T20:59:22","date_gmt":"2021-11-14T19:59:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=414974"},"modified":"2021-11-14T21:14:05","modified_gmt":"2021-11-14T20:14:05","slug":"biafra-ipob-are-troublemakers-seeking-buhari-govts-attention-lawal-usman","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=414974","title":{"rendered":"Biafra: IPOB are troublemakers seeking Buhari govt\u2019s attention &#8211; Lawal Usman"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"mvp-content-main\">A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Kaduna State, Lawal Usman, has described the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, as troublemakers seeking the Federal Government\u2019s attention.<\/p>\n<p>Usman said IPOB\u2019s campaign lacked support from leaders of the South-East region.<\/p>\n<p>The PDP chieftain made the remark while rubbishing the pro-Biafra\u2019s agitation for secession.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking with News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, he described IPOB\u2019s agitation as a joke.<\/p>\n<p>He said: \u201cWe have Igbo people living and doing business in all parts of the country. Are you saying that this people are ready to fold their businesses and fortunes and just go back empty handed from Nigeria?<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe whole thing about IPOB is a great joke, they just want attention from the federal government.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t take them seriously, left to me, they won\u2019t last more than one week, especially if the government is serious about them.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere are great people in South East who believe in oneness of Nigeria. I think that IPOB is made up of some trouble makers, making noise trying to seek government attention.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey are young men who have no knowledge of the country\u2019s history, especially the Civil War, I think they needed to be educated on the history of the country, because they are acting blindly.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He accused the group of seeking foreign funding from enemies of Nigeria.<\/p>\n<p>Lately, IPOB has been in the forefront agitation for Nigeria\u2019s break up and the actualization of Biafra.<\/p>\n<p>To this end, IPOB\u2019s leader, Nnamdi Kanu was arrested and is being prosecuted for terrorism.<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Kaduna State, Lawal Usman, has described the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, as troublemakers seeking the Federal Government\u2019s attention.
