{"id":414281,"date":"2021-11-12T07:25:51","date_gmt":"2021-11-12T06:25:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=414281"},"modified":"2021-11-12T07:34:50","modified_gmt":"2021-11-12T06:34:50","slug":"buhari-reacts-to-death-of-former-ex-south-african-president-fw-de-klerk","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=414281","title":{"rendered":"Buhari reacts to death of Former Ex South African President, FW de Klerk"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"mvp-content-main\">President Muhammadu Buhari has said that the death of South Africa\u2019s last white President, Mr. Frederik Willem de Klerk, \u201cis the end of an era because of his tremendous impact on history and the cause of justice.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>FW de Klerk, an apartheid-era leader in South Africa, died on Thursday<\/p>\n<p>The leader who helped to bring about the end of white-minority rule died of cancer at the age of 85.<\/p>\n<p>Reacting to the demise of de Klerk on Thursday, said \u201cMr. de Klerk was a remarkable moral force for change who will be celebrated for years beyond his death.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to the him, \u201cending the obnoxious apartheid system by a white President was an incredible act of moral courage and fierce commitment to human rights regardless of the colour of the victims of racial segregation and discrimination in South Africa.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He noted that \u201cthe late South African leader had put humanity and justice before personal political ambition by dismantling the abhorrent apartheid system.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHistory will be greatly kind to the late de Klerk because it takes a lot of moral audacity to do what he did at the time he did it.
