{"id":414074,"date":"2021-11-11T11:19:32","date_gmt":"2021-11-11T10:19:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=414074"},"modified":"2021-11-11T11:19:37","modified_gmt":"2021-11-11T10:19:37","slug":"road-accident-claims-5-lives-injures-9-in-bauchi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=414074","title":{"rendered":"Road accident claims 5 lives, injures 9 in Bauchi"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"mvp-content-main\">Five persons were killed in an auto crash in Bauchi State on Wednesday, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) confirmed on Thursday.<br \/>\nThe FRSC Sector Commander in the state, Yusuf Abdullahi, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that nine other persons sustained serious injuries in the accident.<br \/>\nHe said that the accident occurred in the Nabordo community on the Toro-Bauchi Highway when two vehicles had a head-on collision.<br \/>\nAbdullahi said that it took the FRSC barely 26 minutes to arrive at the scene of the crash to clear the site.<br \/>\nAccording to him, the registration numbers of the two vehicles were not available, but that they belonged to Gombe Line and Adamawa Sunshine transport companies.<br \/>\nHe described the vehicles as a Toyota Hummer Bus and a Toyota Sienna bus, and attributed the cause of the crash to dangerous driving and speed violations.<br \/>\n\u201cFifteen people, 13 males and two females, were involved in the crash.<br \/>\n\u201cFive died on the spot and they were all males. Nine others sustained injuries, among them were eight males and one female; the only person that escaped unhurt is a female,\u2019\u2019 Abdullahi said.<br \/>\nAbdullahi said that the injured persons were taken to Toro General Hospital for treatment.<br \/>\n\u201cThe remains of the deceased were deposited in the morgue of the same hospital for identification,\u201d he added.<br \/>\nThe sector commander advised motorists to always be conscious of road traffic rules and regulations as well as weather conditions at all times.<br \/>\nAbdullahi also urged motorists to ensure that their vehicles were in good condition before embarking on journeys.<\/div>\n<p><strong><em>(DailyPost)<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Five persons were killed in an auto crash in Bauchi State on Wednesday, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) confirmed on Thursday.
