{"id":406831,"date":"2021-10-20T08:58:32","date_gmt":"2021-10-20T07:58:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=406831"},"modified":"2021-10-20T09:06:40","modified_gmt":"2021-10-20T08:06:40","slug":"atletico-madrid-v-liverpool-klopp-reveals-what-hell-do-when-next-he-sees-simeone","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=406831","title":{"rendered":"Atletico Madrid v Liverpool: Klopp reveals what he&#8217;ll do when next he sees Simeone"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"mvp-content-main\">Liverpool boss, Jurgen Klopp has criticised Diego Simeone\u2019s decision not to shake his hand after their Champions League group stage victory over Atletico Madrid on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>Klopp, however, noted that they are both emotional managers, adding it would be a different case when next they see each other, adding that they will shake hands definitely.<\/p>\n<p>An emotional Simeone had snubbed a full-time handshake with Klopp and instead decided to run down the tunnel, much to the bemusement of the Liverpool coach.<\/p>\n<p>Liverpool were two goals ahead within 13 minutes, thanks to goals from Mohamed Salah and Naby Keita.<\/p>\n<p>But the former Premier League champions were pegged back in the first half through an Antoine Griezmann double.<\/p>\n<p>Salah added his second of the night from the spot after Mario Hermoso was adjudged to have pushed Diogo Jota in the box<\/p>\n<p>Speaking after the match, Klopp said Simeone\u2019s actions were not right, before attempting to play down the situation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe situation is clear, I wanted to shake his hand and he didn\u2019t want to. His reaction was for sure not right and mine was not too good as well,\u201d he told BT Sport.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut we are both emotional so when we see each other next time we will shake hands definitely and it\u2019s like nothing happened.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe was obviously angry not with me, but with the game, the world and it\u2019s nothing else.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s not the first time the pair have been embroiled in controversy after Klopp questioned why Atletico had not played \u2018proper football\u2019 when the Spanish side knocked the then holders Liverpool out of the Champions League in 2020.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Liverpool boss, Jurgen Klopp has criticised Diego Simeone\u2019s decision not to shake his hand after their Champions League group stage victory over Atletico Madrid on Tuesday.
