{"id":402678,"date":"2021-10-09T20:01:34","date_gmt":"2021-10-09T19:01:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=402678"},"modified":"2021-10-09T20:33:03","modified_gmt":"2021-10-09T19:33:03","slug":"epl-paul-scholes-exposes-man-utds-major-weakness-under-solskjaer-this-season","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=402678","title":{"rendered":"EPL: Paul Scholes exposes Man Utd\u2019s major weakness under Solskjaer this season"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"mvp-content-main\">Manchester United legend, Paul Scholes, has revealed the club\u2019s major weakness under their manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, this season.<\/p>\n<p>Scholes believes Man United\u2019s lack of balance in midfield is their major weakness this season, adding that it may cost them the Premier League title because their two title rivals play more \u2018aggressive\u2019 systems.<\/p>\n<p>He also backed Man United midfielder, Scott McTominay, to play in the holding role in Solskjaer\u2019s midfield.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou mention McTominay, I think he is the best one for that role out of the four of them, I would definitely go for him,\u201d Scholes told Webby and O\u2019Neill.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think he has got everything, he is athletic, he can get around the pitch, he has got great ability as well. He is capable of sitting in that position.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOle doesn\u2019t seem to be able to get the balance right in that team. Is he going to play that one with the rest around him, and have Pogba next to him, who he probably doesn\u2019t trust defensively? Or is he going to play two holding midfield players.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s the difference between United and I think Liverpool and City \u2013 they are much more aggressive, more attack-minded.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou think of City going away to Chelsea, they play one holding midfield player and almost play six or seven forward players \u2013 that is the difference in mentality.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think if Ole can get that right with that balance in the team\u2026 going forward I don\u2019t think it is a problem. Going forward we have got so many exciting players with Cristiano coming.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He added, \u201cDefensively, we look good again. I know Maguire is out injured, but once he\u2019s back, which will be hopefully after the international break.
