{"id":402676,"date":"2021-10-09T20:00:02","date_gmt":"2021-10-09T19:00:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=402676"},"modified":"2021-10-09T20:32:23","modified_gmt":"2021-10-09T19:32:23","slug":"ballon-d-or-tuchel-names-player-who-deserves-to-win-award-this-year","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=402676","title":{"rendered":"Ballon d\u2019 Or: Tuchel names player who deserves to win award this year"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"mvp-content-main\">Chelsea boss, Thomas Tuchel, has named the Blues midfielder, Jorginho, as the player that deserves to win the Ballon d\u2019Or this year.<\/p>\n<p>Tuchel believes it is not only because Jorginho has won the Champions League with Chelsea and the European Championships with Italy over the last year, but also because he is a very intelligent player.<\/p>\n<p>Jorginho won the Champions League with Chelsea at the end of May, before playing a pivotal role in Italy\u2019s Euro 2020 triumph.<\/p>\n<p>The 29-year-old was among the 30 players shortlisted for the Ballon d\u2019Or on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>Jorginho is expected to rival Paris Saint-Germain\u2019s Lionel Messi, Bayern Munich\u2019s Robert Lewandowski, Manchester United\u2019s Cristiano Ronaldo, Chelsea\u2019s N\u2019Golo Kante, Real Madrid\u2019s Karim Benzema, Liverpool\u2019s Mohamed Salah and Paris Saint-Germain\u2019s Kylian Mbappe for the Ballon d\u2019 Or.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJorginho deserves to win the Ballon d\u2019Or,\u201d Tuchel said during an appearance at the annual Sports Festival in the Italian city of Trento, according to Football Italia.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe\u2019s a very intelligent player and it is a pleasure to be his coach.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe has a great vision of football,\u201d Tuchel added.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor me, individual prizes don\u2019t have great significance, it is impossible to make a real comparison between several players of different roles.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI would like one of my players to win it because I would know what the effect would be.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThen, Jorginho is a great person and an excellent player, but in general it is not the most important thing.\u201d<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Chelsea boss, Thomas Tuchel, has named the Blues midfielder, Jorginho, as the player that deserves to win the Ballon d\u2019Or this year.
