{"id":401250,"date":"2021-10-06T10:06:40","date_gmt":"2021-10-06T09:06:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=401250"},"modified":"2021-10-06T10:07:40","modified_gmt":"2021-10-06T09:07:40","slug":"we-have-over-9000-teachers-gap-in-jigawa-nut","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arewa.ng\/?p=401250","title":{"rendered":"We have over 9000 teachers&#8217; gap in Jigawa &#8211; NUT"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"mvp-content-main\">The Chairman, Jigawa State Chapter of the Nigeria Union of Teachers, ( NUT), Comrade Abdulkadir Yunusa has said the State has over nine thousand teachers\u2019 gap.<\/p>\n<p>The chairman disclosed this in a press briefing to mark the World Teachers\u2019 Day held at the Union\u2019s headquarters,<br \/>\nDutse.<\/p>\n<p>He said over 9,000 teachers were needed to manage hundreds of schools that are having shortages of teachers across the State.<\/p>\n<p>Yunusa explained that the gap emanated from massive retirement or death of teachers for many years without replacement.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, even though the State Government had employed 1,950 teachers, the number is completely inadequate considering the number of schools that lacking teachers across the State.<\/p>\n<p>He added the state Government had also introduced J-teach program in order to bridge the existing teachers\u2019 gap in the State.<\/p>\n<p>The chairman explained that the beneficiaries would also be converted to parmanent teachers based on their performance and commitment.<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Chairman, Jigawa State Chapter of the Nigeria Union of Teachers, ( NUT), Comrade Abdulkadir Yunusa has said the State has over nine thousand teachers\u2019 gap.
