Adamu Shehu confirmed this in a press statement issued to newsmen in Dutse, the state capital.<\/p>\n<p>He said the suspect who is a divorcee, mother of four (4) and neighbour to the house where the baby was discovered, was arrested on Thursday, 23rd day of September 2021.<\/p>\n<p>Adamu explained that the woman was arrested following the sampling of nine (9) pregnant women living in the area.<\/p>\n<p>He said \u201cthe selected women underwent thorough medical examinations to unravel the one who gave birth recently and on the process, the identified woman confessed to have dumped the baby in a pit latrine after she got the pregnant out of wedlock\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Narrating the incident to DAILY POST the woman said a week before the incident she complained to the person responsible for the pregnancy that she is uncomfortable with the pregnancy.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI complained to the person responsible for the pregnancy one Yahaya Garba that I am not comfortable with it, he gave me five thousand to buy drugs to abort the pregnancy\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTherefore after I had taken the drugs, I started bleeding which eventually led to the still birth at around 1000hrs.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201d I then decided to dump the dead body and then sneaked into my neighbor\u2019s residence and dumped the dead body in a pit latrine while he was not around\u201d<\/p>\n<p>NSCDC Spokesman noted that it arrested the person responsible for the pregnancy one Yahaya Garba.<\/p>\n<p>He said the the two suspects will be charged to court after investigation.<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps NSCDC has arrested a 28th-year-old woman Aishatu Yahaya for throwing her baby into a pit latrine in Hadejia local government area of Jigawa State.
